Tricolored Parrotfinch

Erythrura tricolor (Vieillot, 1817)

Tricolored Parrotfinch, Erythrura tricolor, is a passerine in the Estrildidae family that breeds in Australasia from Timor to Babar in the Lesser Sundas and on the Tanimbar Islands in the southern Moluccas. It occurs in dry forest and dry savannah in subtropical and tropical areas. The species was described by Vieillot in 1817. Its recorded range is limited to this part of the region, and its global extent of occurrence has been estimated at 20,000 to 50,000 km2.
