Tristram's Starling

Ramphocoris clotbey

Tristram's Starling (Ramphocoris clotbey) is a medium-sized bird found in the deserts and semi-deserts of the Middle East. It has a distinctive black plumage with a metallic sheen, and its long tail and pointed wings make it an agile flier. This species is known for its melodious and varied songs, often performed in groups. Tristram's Starling forages for insects, seeds, and fruits on the ground and in low vegetation. It nests in cavities in cliffs or buildings, forming small colonies. Despite facing threats from habitat loss and hunting, its population is currently stable.
