Tufted Tit-Spinetail, Leptasthenura platensis, is a passerine of the ovenbird family that breeds in northern and central Argentina, southern Brazil, Uruguay and eastern Argentina, with only sight records from Paraguay. It was described by Reichenbach in 1853. This is a small, slender bird with a long tail, a short crest and a short bill. It lives in gallery forest, other river-edge habitats, dry woodland, scrub and brushy country, including Monte Desert areas, from sea level to 1,000 m. It is mostly resident, though some birds move beyond the core range.
