Ultramarine Flycatcher, Ficedula superciliaris, breeds in the Oriental Region from eastern Afghanistan to southern China, central India and south-east Asia. It is a small Old World flycatcher in the Muscicapidae family, first described by Jerdon in 1840. The bird is also known as the white-browed blue flycatcher. Its breeding range reaches the western Himalayas and continues east through Nepal, Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh, with further breeding populations in the hills of Meghalaya and Nagaland. In the west, the male shows a white brow above the eye and white at the base of the outer tail feathers.
