Frederickena unduliger
The Undulated Antpitta (Frederickena unduliger) is a small, secretive bird found in the cloud forests of the Andes in South America. It has a distinctive, melodious song that echoes through the dense undergrowth. This species is known for its shy and elusive nature, making it a challenging bird to observe in the wild. The Undulated Antpitta primarily forages on the forest floor, feeding on insects and small invertebrates. Its cryptic plumage provides excellent camouflage among the leaf litter and fallen branches. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, the Undulated Antpitta faces threats to its survival.
