Grallaria obscura
The Undulated Antpitta (Grallaria obscura) is a medium-sized bird found in the cloud forests of the Andes in South America. It is known for its distinctive undulating song and secretive nature, often foraging on the forest floor for insects and small invertebrates. This species has a mottled brown and gray plumage that provides excellent camouflage among the leaf litter. The Undulated Antpitta plays a vital role in the ecosystem as a seed disperser and indicator of forest health. However, its population is threatened by habitat loss and fragmentation.
