Uniform Crake, Amaurolimnas concolor, is a rail in the family Rallidae and breeds across Middle America and South America. It occurs from southern Mexico through much of Central America and on into several South American countries. The species is the only one in its genus. It is a secretive bird of wet and near-dry places, including wooded swamps, flooded forest, thick growth along ravines and streams, and dense cover at the edges of secondary forest and cultivated land. Its breeding range is widespread, and it has a patchy distribution even within that broad area.
