Aerodramus vanikorensis (Quoy & Gaimard, 1832)

Uniform Swiftlet, Aerodramus vanikorensis, is a swift of Australasia, breeding from Sulawesi to Vanuatu. It is a gregarious, medium-sized bird with a shallowly forked tail. Its plumage is dark grey-brown, with the upperparts darker than the underparts and the chin and throat paler still. It lives across lowland forests and open country, and it also roosts and nests in caves, including limestone sites. It uses echolocation in darkness when moving through its cave nesting places.
