Ursula's Sunbird

Cinnyris ursulae

Ursula's Sunbird (Cinnyris ursulae) is a small bird species found in the coastal forests and woodlands of eastern Africa. The male has iridescent green and blue plumage on the head and back, with a bright red chest and throat. The female is olive-green with a yellow belly. These sunbirds are nectar feeders and also consume insects. They are known for their acrobatic flight and distinctive metallic chirping calls. Ursula's Sunbirds build small cup-shaped nests using plant fibers and spider webs. They are important pollinators and play a role in maintaining the ecological balance of their habitat.
