Asthenes urubambensis
The Urubamba thistletail (Asthenes urubambensis) is a small, secretive bird found in the Andes of South America. It has a distinctive streaked brown plumage with a pale throat and buffy underparts. This species is often found in dense undergrowth and scrubby areas, where it forages for insects and small invertebrates. The Urubamba thistletail is known for its shy behavior and can be difficult to spot despite its relatively common occurrence in its range. Due to its restricted range and potential threats from habitat loss, its conservation status is currently listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN.
