Varied Lorikeet, Psitteuteles versicolor, is a parrot of northern Australia, breeding from north-west Western Australia to north-west Queensland. It inhabits tropical eucalypt forest, wetlands and grassland across Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland. Its most useful field marks are the fine yellow streaks on the green plumage and the broad patch around the eye. The head carries red on the lores, forehead and crown, while the upper breast is mauve with yellow streaking. It nests in unlined tree hollows, often in horizontal limbs, and lays 2–4 white eggs.
