Varzea Schiffornis, Schiffornis major, is a passerine of the Tityridae family found in central and western Amazonia in South America. It occurs mainly in várzea, the seasonally flooded forest of the Amazon Basin. Its range includes Amazonian Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and parts of Venezuela. Described by des Murs in 1856, it is a member of the group now placed with the tityras, becards and their allies.
