They are highly social birds and are often found in small flocks or pairs. Vasa parrots are known for their intelligence and are capable of mimicking human speech and sounds. They primarily feed on fruits, seeds, and nuts, and are important seed dispersers in their native habitat. Due to habitat loss and trapping for the pet trade, the Vasa Parrot is listed as Near Threatened by the IUCN.
