Vella Lavella Monarch, Symposiachrus nigrotectus, is a passeriform bird in the monarch family found in the north-western New Georgia group of the western Solomon Islands. It occurs on Ranongga and Vella Lavella, with one form on each island. The species was first described in 1908 by E. J. O. Hartert from a specimen taken on Vella Lavella. It was once treated as part of the Kolombangara monarch, but is now recognised separately. Two subspecies are accepted: S. n. ganongae on Ranongga and S. n. nigrotectus on Vella Lavella.
