Victoria's Riflebird, Ptiloris victoriae, is a bird-of-paradise found in se Cape York Peninsula and north-east Queensland in Australia. It breeds in this part of Australasia, and the species was described by Gould in 1850. The bird is the smallest riflebird. Males show an iridescent purple sheen, with the head shifting towards blue-green and the lower breast taking on bronze tones. The throat is black and velvety, with a metallic green and blue triangular mark at its centre. Females have a pale eyebrow and buff underparts lightly barred with brown.
