The Vietnamese Laughingthrush primarily forages for insects and fruits in the dense undergrowth of montane evergreen forests, where it is most commonly found. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, this species faces threats, and its conservation status is currently categorized as Vulnerable by the IUCN.
