Aethopyga vigorsii (Sykes, 1832)
Vigors's Sunbird, Aethopyga vigorsii, is a sunbird of the Western Ghats in western peninsular India. It is a member of the family Nectariniidae and the order Passeriformes. Its range is limited to this part of India, with records mainly from the northern Western Ghats and also the Nilgiris. It is set apart from the crimson sunbird by the shorter central tail feathers. The species was described by Sykes in 1832 and was named for Nicholas Aylward Vigors.
