Vinaceous Dove

Streptopelia vinacea

The Vinaceous Dove is a medium-sized dove species found in Southeast Asia. It has a distinctive vinaceous plumage with a pinkish hue on the breast and a greyish head and wings. This species is known for its gentle cooing calls and is often found in lowland forests, mangroves, and wooded areas. The Vinaceous Dove primarily feeds on seeds and fruits, and can be observed foraging on the forest floor. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and hunting pose potential risks to its populations.
