Vinaceous Rosefinch, Carpodacus vinaceus, is a finch of the Fringillidae family that breeds in Nepal, China, far northern Myanmar, far north-west Vietnam and the central Himalayas and Chinese mountains. It also occurs in south-eastern Tibet, with a separate population from southern Gansu to Hubei in north-central China. Outside the breeding season it moves to lower elevations and makes short-distance movements westwards. The species was described by Verreaux, J, in 1871. The Taiwan rosefinch is often treated as a subspecies.
