Violet Crow, Corvus violaceus, is a crow of the Corvidae family found in Australasia on Seram and Ambon in the eastern Moluccas. It was described by Bonaparte in 1850. It was once treated as part of the slender-billed crow, but genetic work has shown it to be distinct. It is associated mainly with forests and plantations, and also uses more open ground and farmland. It has a dark black head, a slightly blue-black body, and a bill that is shorter than that of most other crows.
