Violet-green Swallow

The Violet-green Swallow is a small songbird known for its striking plumage and graceful aerial acrobatics. This species is characterized by iridescent green and violet feathers on its upperparts, with white underparts and a distinct white patch on the side of its face. Violet-green Swallows are highly social birds, often seen in large flocks during the breeding season. They are skilled insect hunters, catching prey on the wing with their agile flight maneuvers. These swallows typically breed in open woodlands, canyons, and mountainous areas, and they often nest in tree cavities or man-made structures. During the winter, they migrate to southern Mexico and Central America.
