Viridian Metaltail, Metallura williami, is a hummingbird of the Andes in South America, breeding from central Colombia to southern Ecuador. It lives in páramo grassland with scattered shrubs, and along the shrubby margins of humid montane forest and elfin forest. Four subspecies are recognised, with some forms once treated as separate species. The species has a medium-length straight black bill. In the nominate male, the upper and underparts are bottle green, with a glittering green throat and a slightly forked purplish blue tail.
