Vogelkop Scrubwren, Aethomyias rufescens, is a passerine of the Acanthizidae family that breeds in the montane Bird's Head and Neck of north-west New Guinea. It is found in West Papua, Indonesia, where it lives in moist montane forest. The bird was once included in Sericornis, but a 2018 molecular study of scrubwrens led to its transfer to Aethomyias, a genus brought back into use for it.
