This eagle is often found in open woodlands, savannas, and grasslands, where it hunts small mammals, birds, and reptiles. Wahlberg's Eagle is a skilled hunter, using its keen eyesight and powerful talons to capture prey. It is known for its impressive soaring flights, often seen circling high in the sky. Despite facing threats from habitat loss and persecution, the conservation status of Wahlberg's Eagle is currently assessed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
