Wahlberg's Eagle, Hieraaetus wahlbergi, is a widespread breeding bird across Africa, especially in sub-Saharan regions. It is a bird of prey in the Accipitridae family and is found in woodlands and savannas, where it is a seasonal migrant. The species has a small crest and yellow legs, and its plumage varies, with dark birds more common than the paler form. It breeds mainly in southern Africa from October to February, building a stick nest in a tree fork or palm crown and often reusing it over several years.
