Walden's hornbill

Rhabdotorrhinus waldeni

Walden's hornbill, also known as the Visayan wrinkled hornbill, is a medium-sized bird native to the Philippines. It is recognized by its striking black and white plumage, with a large yellow casque on top of its bill. These birds are known for their distinctive calls and are primarily frugivorous, feeding on a variety of fruits and occasionally small animals. They play a crucial role in seed dispersal within their forest habitats. Unfortunately, habitat loss and hunting have led to a decline in their population, making them a vulnerable species.
