Wallace's Owlet-nightjar (Aegotheles wallacii) is a small nocturnal bird native to the islands of Indonesia. It has a distinctive plumage with mottled brown and grey feathers, providing excellent camouflage in its forest habitat. This species is known for its unique call, a series of soft whistles and chattering sounds. Wallace's Owlet-nightjar is primarily insectivorous, hunting for prey in the dense undergrowth of its forest home.
