Wallace's Owlet-nightjar (Aegotheles wallacii) is a small nocturnal bird native to the islands of Indonesia. It has a distinctive plumage with mottled brown and grey feathers, providing excellent camouflage in its forest habitat. This species is known for its unique call, a series of soft whistles and chattering sounds. Wallace's Owlet-nightjar is primarily insectivorous, hunting for prey in the dense undergrowth of its forest home. Due to habitat loss and limited distribution, the conservation status of this species is currently classified as Vulnerable by the IUCN.
