Wattled Crane

The Wattled Crane is a large, striking bird known for its distinctive red wattles that hang from its throat. This species is found in wetlands and grasslands of sub-Saharan Africa. Wattled Cranes are known for their elaborate courtship displays, which involve dancing and calling. They are omnivorous, feeding on a variety of plant matter, insects, and small vertebrates. This species faces threats from habitat loss, disturbance, and hunting, and is considered vulnerable to extinction.
