Anarhynchus pallidus

The Waved Albatross, scientifically known as Anarhynchus pallidus, is a large seabird that belongs to the albatross family. These birds are known for their distinctive waved pattern on their wings and their impressive wingspan, which can reach up to 2.5 meters. They are primarily found in the Galápagos Islands, where they breed and feed on fish and squid. Waved Albatrosses are known for their elaborate courtship displays, which involve bill-clapping and dancing. They are well adapted for long-distance oceanic flights and spend most of their lives at sea. Unfortunately, they are currently listed as critically endangered due to threats such as bycatch in fishing gear and habitat degradation.
