Western Citril, Crithagra frontalis, is a finch of central Africa, breeding from eastern DR Congo to Uganda, western Tanzania and north-eastern Zambia. It belongs to the family Fringillidae and is placed in the order Passeriformes. The species was described by Reichenow in 1904. It was once included in Serinus, but later genetic work showed that this grouping did not hold together, so the bird was transferred to Crithagra.
