Western Grasswren

Amytornis rowleyi

The Western Grasswren (Amytornis rowleyi) is a small passerine bird found in the arid and semi-arid regions of Western Australia. It is known for its distinctive call and secretive nature, often foraging on the ground for insects and seeds. This species has a mottled brown plumage with a distinct white eyebrow stripe and a long tail. The Western Grasswren is typically found in spinifex grass and shrubland habitats, where it can blend in with its surroundings and avoid predators. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, this species is considered vulnerable to extinction.
