Western House Martin Delichon urbicum is a passerine in the swallow family, breeding across the Palearctic and spending the nonbreeding season in southwestern Asia and Africa. It is a bird of open country and places close to people, and it is closely linked to buildings. Its name reflects this habit, as it makes a covered nest of mud pellets beneath eaves or in similar spots, often in colonies. It is also known for its blue head and upperparts, white rump and clean white underparts.
