Western Long-tailed Hornbill, Horizocerus albocristatus, is a hornbill of West Africa, breeding from Guinea to Benin. It lives in humid forests across that region and is recorded from southern Sierra Leone eastwards through Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia and Togo. First described by Cassin in 1848, it is now placed in the genus Horizocerus. It was once treated as the same species as the eastern long-tailed hornbill, and the name white-crested hornbill was used for that combined form. Two subspecies are recognised, with differences in white on the head and neck and on the wing-coverts.
