Bucerotidae — Hornbills

Western Red-billed Hornbill, Tockus kempi, is a hornbill of the family Bucerotidae that breeds in Africa from Senegal and Gambia south to southern Mauritania and western Mali. Tréca and Érard described it in 2000. It belongs to the order Bucerotiformes. It is one of five red-billed hornbill species now recognised, although the group was once treated as a single species, and some authorities still place the others as subspecies of Tockus erythrorhynchus.
