Western Tanager

The Western Tanager is a striking songbird found in the western parts of North America. Males display vibrant yellow bodies, black wings, and a red face, while females have a more subdued yellow-green plumage. These birds are often found in coniferous and mixed forests, where they forage for insects and fruits. They are known for their melodious songs and can be observed flitting among the treetops. Western Tanagers are migratory, spending winters in Mexico and Central America. Their conservation status is of Least Concern according to the IUCN, but they may face threats from habitat loss and climate change.
