White-banded Tyrannulet

The White-banded Tyrannulet is a small, insectivorous bird found in the Andes of South America. It has a distinctive white band across its forehead and a grayish-green back. This species is known for its high-pitched, repetitive song that it uses to communicate with its mate and defend its territory. White-banded Tyrannulets are typically found in montane cloud forests and adjacent woodlands, where they forage for insects in the mid to upper canopy. They are often observed in mixed-species flocks, moving quickly and acrobatically through the foliage. The conservation status of the White-banded Tyrannulet is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
