White-barred Piculet, Picumnus cirratus, is a woodpecker from Picidae that breeds in north-eastern and south-eastern South America. Its range includes Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay and Uruguay. First described by Temminck in 1825, it is a small piculet with a black cap in the male, marked by a red forehead patch and white spotting elsewhere on the crown. The female lacks the red forehead. The species also shows barred underparts and a white stripe behind the eye.
