White-bellied Bustard

Eupodotis senegalensis

The White-bellied Bustard, scientifically known as Eupodotis senegalensis, is a large bird native to the grasslands and savannas of sub-Saharan Africa. This species is known for its striking plumage, with a predominantly brown and white coloration, and a distinctive black and white pattern on the wings. The male is known for its impressive courtship display, which involves inflating its neck and producing a deep, booming call. White-bellied Bustards are primarily ground-dwelling birds, foraging for insects, seeds, and small vertebrates in their grassland habitat. Despite their large size, they are well-camouflaged and can be difficult to spot among the tall grasses.
