The White-bellied Redstart, scientifically known as Tarsiger albocoeruleus, is a small passerine bird found in the high-altitude forests of the Himalayas and Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its striking combination of colors, with a black head, white belly, and vibrant rufous-orange plumage on its back and tail. This species is known for its agile and active foraging behavior, often seen hopping and flitting among the undergrowth in search of insects and small invertebrates. The White-bellied Redstart is typically found in dense, moss-laden forests with a mix of coniferous and broadleaf trees, often near mountain streams and waterfalls. While not currently assessed by the IUCN, its population is believed to be stable within its range.
