Icthyophaga leucogaster
The White-bellied Sea Eagle (Icthyophaga leucogaster) is a large raptor found in coastal regions and near large bodies of water throughout Southeast Asia and Australia. With a wingspan of up to 2.2 meters, it is known for its striking appearance and powerful flying abilities. This majestic bird is easily recognizable by its white head and underparts, contrasting with dark wings and back. It primarily preys on fish and other aquatic animals, using its keen eyesight to spot prey from great heights before swooping down to capture it. Due to habitat loss and human disturbance, the conservation status of the White-bellied Sea Eagle is currently classified as Least Concern by the IUCN.
