Mazaria propinqua (Pelzeln, 1859)
White-bellied Spinetail, Mazaria propinqua, is a bird of the western Amazon Basin in South America, living along rivers in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana and Peru. It belongs to the ovenbird family Furnariidae and is placed in its own genus, Mazaria. The species is tied to river islands, where it uses early successional growth, especially grassy patches with scattered bushes and small trees. It is a lowland bird and has been recorded only up to 300 m. Adults show the same plumage in both sexes, and juveniles differ from them in their underparts, throat and wings.
