Serpophaga hypoleuca
The White-bellied Tyrannulet is a small, insectivorous bird found in South America. It has a distinctive white belly and a dark grey upper body with a pale supercilium. This species is known for its agile and acrobatic foraging behavior, often catching insects in mid-air. It inhabits a variety of forested habitats, including tropical and subtropical moist lowland forests, as well as montane forests. The White-bellied Tyrannulet is often observed in the mid to upper levels of the forest canopy, where it actively hunts for prey. Despite its small size, this bird is known for its energetic and vocal nature, often emitting high-pitched calls and trills.
