White-bellied Whistler

Pachycephala albiventris

The White-bellied Whistler (Pachycephala albiventris) is a small to medium-sized bird found in the forests and woodlands of northern and eastern Australia. It is known for its distinctive whistling calls and melodious songs. This species has a striking appearance, with a black head, white throat, and a white belly, contrasting with its olive-green upperparts. The White-bellied Whistler primarily feeds on insects and small fruits, foraging in the dense foliage of trees and shrubs. It nests in tree forks and lays 2-3 eggs per clutch. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation pose potential risks to its populations.
