White-billed Crow

Corvus woodfordi (Ogilvie-Grant, 1887)

White-billed Crow, Corvus woodfordi, is a crow family bird found in the Solomon Islands, breeding on Choiseul, Isabel and Guadalcanal. It is a forest species with a short, stocky build, a short squared tail and a large head. Its most striking feature is a deep, curved pale ivory bill with a darker tip, set off by dark nasal bristles. The plumage is glossy black, with greenish-purple sheen on the head and purple gloss elsewhere. Adults have a pale grey or white iris, and black legs and feet.
