White-browed Brushfinch

Atlapetes blancae

The White-browed Brushfinch (Atlapetes blancae) is a small passerine bird found in the cloud forests of the Andes in Colombia and Venezuela. It has a distinctive white stripe above the eye, contrasting with the olive-green plumage. This species is known for its shy and elusive behavior, often foraging on the forest floor for insects and seeds. The White-browed Brushfinch is an important seed disperser and plays a role in maintaining the ecological balance of its habitat. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, this species is vulnerable to population declines.
