White-browed Owl, Athene superciliaris, is an owl of Madagascar in the family Strigidae. It occurs in the north-east, south and south-west of the island, and is most often found in drier forest and gallery forest, with a smaller presence in humid rainforest. It also uses cultivated land and secondary woodland, mainly at low elevations up to 800 m. It is a compact owl with a rounded head and no ear tufts, and the adult has bold white brows, brown upperparts and barred buff underparts.
