White-browed Rosefinch

Carpodacus rubicilla

The White-browed Rosefinch (Carpodacus rubicilla) is a small passerine bird found in the high-altitude mountain ranges of Central Asia. It is known for its distinctive white eyebrow stripe and bright red plumage on the male, while the female has a more subdued brownish-gray coloration. These finches are often found in alpine meadows and shrubby areas, where they forage for seeds and insects. They are known for their melodious and varied songs, especially during the breeding season. The White-browed Rosefinch is not currently considered to be at risk, but its high-altitude habitat may be vulnerable to climate change and human disturbance.
