White-cheeked Tern, Sterna repressa, is a tern in the family Laridae that breeds along coasts from Kenya through the Red Sea and Persian Gulf to coastal Pakistan. It was described by Hartert in 1916. The species is associated with tropical and subtropical shorelines, including the Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean. It nests in colonies, and these may include more than one tern species. Its breeding sites are shallow scrapes on rock, sand, gravel or coral islands, as well as open sand, dunes and beaches above the high-water mark.
