White-cheeked Turaco

The White-cheeked Turaco is a medium-sized bird found in the woodlands and forests of East Africa. It is known for its distinctive white cheeks and vibrant green plumage. This species is arboreal, spending much of its time in the canopy, where it feeds on fruits, leaves, and insects. The White-cheeked Turaco is known for its unique vocalizations, often emitting loud, guttural calls. It nests in trees, constructing a platform of twigs and laying 2-3 eggs. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation are potential future concerns for this species.
