White-cheeked Turaco

The White-cheeked Turaco is a medium-sized bird found in the forests and woodlands of East Africa. It is recognized by its vibrant green plumage, distinctive white cheek patches, and red beak. This species is known for its unique call, which is a series of musical yelps and whistles. White-cheeked Turacos are primarily frugivorous, feeding on a variety of fruits and occasionally insects. They are arboreal and spend much of their time in the canopy, where they move with agility using their strong feet and claws. These birds are monogamous and often seen in pairs or small family groups. The White-cheeked Turaco is not currently considered threatened, but habitat loss and fragmentation are potential future concerns.
