Apodidae — Swifts

White-chested Swift, Cypseloides lemosi, is a swift of the family Apodidae that breeds in South America from Colombia to north-east Ecuador and north-west Peru. It was described by Eisenmann & Lehmann in 1962. The species is known from scattered localities in the Andes, especially along the east side of the range, and it has also been recorded eastwards into Bolivia. It is most often reported above evergreen montane and lowland forest, though it also uses pasture and young secondary growth. A white band across the breast is the main feature that sets adults apart.
